Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for UGC NET June 2025:

JRF Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any subject with 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender) 30 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Third Gender)
Assistant Professor/PhD Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any subject with 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender) No upper limit

Additional Notes: Final-year students can apply too! (Submit proof later).

Exam Pattern

The test is 100% computer-based (CBT). Here’s the structure:

  • Paper I (General): Teaching/Research Aptitude, 50 Questions, 100 Marks
  • Paper II (Subject): Your chosen discipline, 100 Questions, 200 Marks
  • Duration: 3 hrs
  • Marking: No negative marking (guess wisely!)
  • Note: Papers I & II must be attempted together. Results depend on both papers.
